Candidate for State Representative of the 97th District

Jim Barrett has been a resident of south St. Louis County for over 30 years and is a graduate of Affton High School. Jim is an employee of Schnucks Warehouse and a 22 year Teamster member of Local 688.
He has worked in Jefferson City as a member of the St. Louis Joint Labor Management Council on Sunshine Law Reform, Transportation Development Districts Reform, and Tax Increment Financing Reform. He has also worked as a volunteer with many campaigns including those of Governor Jay Nixon and Treasurer Clint Zweifel.
He and his wife Robyn, a professor of accounting at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, are parents to three young boys, Jimmy, Joey and Mickey, and are active parents at Hagemann Elementary.
In his free time, Jim is coach to his sons’ youth athletic teams, a trustee of the Misty Trails Subdivision, and an active member of the Tesson Ferry Democratic Club, Concord Lions Club, Oakville Democratic Club and the South County Chamber of Commerce.
